I absolutely love, love, love my silk pillowcases. I had heard for years that sleeping on a silk pillowcase does wonders for your hair. I always thought it was an “old wives tale”. What I now know is that those old tales have so much wisdom and I’ll never discount them again! This is my secret to waking up with hair I barely have to run a brush through to look gorgeous. It’s a super time saver! The Good Housekeeping Institute even recommends them!
As you sleep, hair glides over a silk pillowcase with minimal friction, which means you'll be less likely to wake up with frizzy hair, tangles or bedhead, whereas cotton can snag hair and muss it up into a nest of disorderly tangles overnight. Cotton creates friction which can lead to tangles and frizz. With silk, your hair retains its moisture and does not lose its natural sheen.
